The History Of All Saints' Wickhambrook

Credits

This is an updated edition of the original church history compiled by Joyce Draycott in 1985 with assistance from her husband, Philip Draycott. Her main source of information was a set of notes compiled by the Revd John Hodgson during his incumbency; he was an enthusiastic historian of the church and village. Further assistance was given by the Revd Bill Davis incumbent vicar at the time of the first edition - and also by his two church wardens, Leslie Hanbury and Percy Nunn. A plan of the church for that first edition was provided by James Green with a cover by Andrew Moir.

This new edition has been revised in consultation with the Revd John Hodgson - who was living in New Zealand when this updating was commenced but has since died. Checking of some historical data has been done by John Reynolds and Derek Redhead, with further help again from Leslie Hanbury, Percy Nunn and Joyce Draycott.

Detailed revisions to the plan of the church were made by Anne Bent and her drawings adapted by Christopher Woodward. Photographs in the booklet were taken by the editor of this new edition, John Chittock - the present owner of the Old Vicarage next door to All Saints' Church. The pictures in the web edition were taken by Revd Ian Finn, Paul Bevan, Mike Chester and Mike Pettitt. Additional text was added by Paul Bevan.
